We know that you all appreciate good value for money so we’re very pleased to advise that Sony’s fantastic budget smartphone, the Sony Xperia E1, will be available from us here at Direct Mobiles shortly. It will be extremely competitively priced, making it one of the cheapest smartphones around, and it has some excellent specs too. Read on for our Sony Xperia E1 review.
The Xperia E1 features a 4-inch TFT 16M colour display with a decent resolution of 480 x 800 pixels which gives it 233 pixels per inch. There is nothing budget about the design – it could easily pass for a premium handset with its two tone styling and compact and robust frame. It also comes with impressive speakers which boast Sony xLOUD enhancement technology. The E1 offers Sony’s popular Walkman feature with a dedicated Walkman button located on the top of the handset and includes an FM Radio too.
The Sony Xperia E1 comes with a decent processor for a budget smartphone – a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor with a Cortex A7 chip. It also has 512MB of RAM and 4GB of built-in memory which is expandable up to 32GB thanks to its MicroSD slot. The 1700mAh battery is not bad for a phone of its size and it provides up to 9 hours of talk time.
The Xperia E1 runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.3 but will soon be upgradeable to KitKat 4.4.2. It’s available in 3 colours – black, white and purple. Camera-wise, the Xperia E1 sports a solid 3-megapixel camera with a 4 x zoom, self timer, image stabiliser, HDR and Panorama mode.
