The whole tournament has thrown up surprises, Wales coming back from 16-0 down on day one setting a competition record for comebacks, to then win the Grand Slam and the Tournament. However, the record only lasted until the last day when Scotland mounted the biggest comeback in the competition’s 136 year history. Scotland were down 31-0 to arch rivals England in the first 30 mins. They managed to comeback to draw 38-38 only losing in the last seconds of the match. Although Scotland lost, they retained the Calcutta Cup as well as their pride and respect. Wales are now the only team to have won the Six Nations four times since 2000, a fantastic end to the reign of their manager Warren Gatland, he will hang up his boots after the World Cup later on this year. It is an amazing achievement to finish with a Grand Slam win in his final Six Nations. Again the most improved team were Italy even though they didn’t manage a win, they were very close against France on Saturday. All in all a great Tournament played with great spirit and sportsmanship.
