Check out the New Phones and Tablets Announced by Samsung

At the end of 2013, Samsung launched a couple of new budget smartphones namely the Galaxy Core Advance and the Galaxy Core Plus which are now available in the UK. Also this week at the giant Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung unveiled several new Galaxy Tablets in a bid to become the leader in personal tablets. We take a look at the latest new phone and tablet devices from the South Korean electronics giant.

Not everyone wants to splash their hard-earned cash on a top of the range mobile phone, especially when they are some decent good value handsets which do a decent job. Samsung recently released two entry-level mobile phones which are a step up from their original budget Galaxy Core phone in terms of specs and screen size. Available for significantly less than their premium Galaxy S4 smartphone, here are the facts and figures for the budget Galaxy Core Advance and Galaxy Core Plus mobile phones.

First up is the Galaxy Core Advance with a respectable 4.7-inch TFT screen which offers a resolution of 199 pixels per inch (480 x 800), 8GB of built-in storage and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. Currently running on Android JellyBean 4.2, it has a 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and a better than average 2000mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Core Plus is similar to the Core Advance but with more basic specifications. The Core Plus features a 4.3-inch touchscreen with 217ppi, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 1800mAh battery. The 4GB onboard storage can be increased with a microSD card up to 64GB and it also runs on Android JellyBean 4.2.

As well as two new handsets Samsung have just announced that they will be launching a staggering 4 new tablets. Samsung are unsurprisingly one of the main exhibitors at the annual Consumer Electronics Show and this week they unveiled their ambition to become the number one tablet producer in the world.

The four tablets include the 12.2-inch Galaxy NotePro and three TabPros which will be available in 3 different sizes with screen dimensions of – 12.2, 10.1 and 8.4-inches. The two 12.2-inch Samsung tablets will come with a full HD touchscreen widescreen 16:10 display with an impressive resolution of 2560 x 1600 and will be one of the largest tablets currently on the market.

The new Samsung tablets will feature a new Google-based Android ‘Magazine’ user interface which can be customised by the user to include social media and news feeds on the homescreen as well as apps they use the most frequently. They will also have the capability to display 4 applications at the same time using the Multi Window software so are likely to appeal to customers looking for a tablet which they can use for both business and leisure. Similar to Samsung’s current Galaxy Note range of handsets, the NotePro tablet will also include an S Pen stylus.

Highlighting the business capabilities of the new Samsung tablets, all of the new four tablets will allow you to access and control personal or office-based PCs or laptops with ‘Remote PC’ technology and they will also be pre-loaded with the Cisco WebEx Meetings platform. The new Galaxy ProNote and TabPro series of tablets will be rolled-out across the world starting in the next few months.
