Oppo have officially launched their new Oppo Reno series of phones, complete with pop-up selfie camera.
At their launch event in Zurich, Oppo unveiled three new models; the Oppo Reno, Oppo Reno 5G and the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom.
The Oppo Reno 5G is a 5G-ready version of the 10x Zoom model, which is the top end model in the series.
Exact launch dates for all three phones are still to be confirmed for the UK, but EE have already confirmed that the Oppo Reno 5G will be exclusively available via them. EE are tipped to be the first network to launch a 5G proposition, which makes sense, given that they were first to market with 4G in the UK.
The Oppo Reno will arrive at some point in May, costing around £430, so expect pay monthly plans to sit around the £35-£45 mark. The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom will arrive some time in June and cost around £690. The 5G version’s launch date for the UK is still to be announced, but it will arrive in Switzerland during May.
What’s so special about the Reno phone?
The standout feature of the Oppo Reno series is the pop up camera which contains the front facing camera and a speaker. It takes just one second to open and has some clever tech inside that will detect if you drop the phone so it can close itself before your phone hits the floor.
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom feature three camera lenses and allows you to zoom into photos you’ve already taken by up to….ten times, all without losing any quality.
The phones are packing a 4,065mAh battery, fast-charging and full screen with no notch or punch hole, thanks to the camera being hidden away in the pop up fin.
We’ll have a full review available soon, once we’ve had some hands-on time with the devices.
