Netflix’s Dark Crystal Series Is Getting A Nintendo Switch Game

Bringing Skeksis back

If you’re a child of the 80’s, you’ll no doubt remember being petrified by Jim Henson’s Dark Crystal film; one of those movies of an era when we spoilt for brilliant puppet-based, non-CGI classic films – think Labyrinth, Gremlins, Little Shop of Horrors and erm, Ghoulies? Well this year Netflix is set to introduce the Dark Crystal’s Skeksis to a whole new generation of children with the release of their prequel TV series; Age of Resistance in August, and they confirmed last night that they’ll be launching a game tie-in on Nintendo Switch too.

Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics for Nintendo Switch was shown off at E3 in Las Vegas, complete with a preview trailer that you can watch below. The game is a tactical strategy adventure where you help a team of Gelflings navigate through Jim Henson’ world. From the video, it looks like it will play in a similar way to other turn-based battle games such as Mario & Rabbids and  Advance Wars. There is no official release date yet but expect it to follow not too long after the Netflix series airs on August 30th 2019.

And if you haven’t yet watched the trailer for the new Netflix show, check it out here.
