What to Expect from Microsoft’s Lumia 940

Microsoft-Lumia-940The Lumia 940 is set to be the first flagship smartphone under the new Microsoft Lumia brand name. There have been several reports concerning leaks and speculation which have recently surfaced as to what we can expect to see from the Microsoft Lumia 940 and the specs it could include. Let’s take a look at the latest information.

It’s thought that the Lumia 940 will feature a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution. It could also be one of the first smartphones to feature the new and improved Gorilla Glass 4 screens. On the back of the Microsoft Lumia 940 handset is rumoured to be an impressive 24-megapixel PureView camera which has the ability to record at 60 frames per second in 4K. As is the recent trend, the front-facing camera is thought to be a 5-megapixel version – ideal for those all-important selfies.

There isn’t too much information on the design of the 940 but no doubt we can expect a beautiful range of colourful handsets which are thought to be just under 9mm thin.
It looks like a new and more powerful operating system could be on its way from Windows soon called Windows Phone 10 and the Lumia 940 is likely to run on it.

On the inside, it’s expected that the 940 will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 2.7GHz processor together with a whopping 3GB of RAM. The likelihood is that there will the option to have different levels of built-in storage for the Lumia 940 handsets starting at 32GB and going up to 128GB. The 940 is also rumoured to come with NFC.

We might have to wait until the Spring to see the Microsoft Lumia 940 particularly if it’s going to feature Gorilla Glass 4 and a new version of the Windows Phone operating system. We’ll keep you up to date with any more developments over the next few months.
