EE Launches Updated Glastonbury App Now With BBC iPlayer Integration

EE have been sponsoring Glastonbury Festival for a few years now, positioned at the ‘technology partner’. In addition to adding lots of EE branding to parts of the festival, they also provide charging stations as well as masts on the site to ensure mobile coverage remains good in such a busy, congested area. Now they’ve just released the latest version of their Glastonbury Festival companion app which is available for iPhone and Android users.

EE have updated their Glastonbury app to add some new features

The app is allows festival attendees to check the latest Glastonbury festival and line-up news, locate your car, locate your tent and plan which bands and artists. This year though, EE have added some new features in an aim to help those not attending still get in on the action.

The app now includes BBC iPlayer integration, which will let you watch main stage performances and plan out which artists you want to watch and set reminders so you don’t miss them. The planner will work for those attending the festival and for those watching at home.

An updated interactive map will also show you a complete layout of the Glastonbury site and who is playing at which stage when, including how long they have left of their current set, so you can decide whether to make a mad dash across the field or not.

“With a new iPlayer scheduling feature created especially for those not on site, and improved interactive maps and live scheduling for fans at the Festival, we’ve made it even easier than ever to stay connected with the amazing line-up and experiences at Glastonbury this year.” said Pete Jeavons, Marketing Communications Director at BT and EE.

In addition to the app, EE’s mobile charging stations will be available at Glastonbury, and if you’ve got a fast-charging compatible phone, you’ll be able to charge your phone there in under 30 minutes.
