EE will launch Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G in the UK on September 18

Still waiting on a foldable smartphone? Samsung’s got your back.

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Fold 5G will be coming to the UK on September 18, exclusively with EE. This means the network is the first to sell a foldable device in the country (foldable screen that is, we’re not talking flip phones here).

The phone was orginally due to launch back in April but was delayed after early reviews found some problems with the screen. Those issues seem to have been resolved now and Samsung will launch the Fold 5G in EE’s high street stores and website, alongside Samsung Experience Stores, Samsung KX, Harrods and Selfridges.

It will cost you…wait for it…£1,900 and will include wireless Galaxy Buds and a Galaxy Fold 5G Aramid case. This is the SIM Free price as EE are yet to announce pricing for the phone on their contract plans.

BT’s consumer division CEO Marc Allera said of the launch: “The new Galaxy Fold 5G offers EE customers a completely new smartphone experience, all on the UK’s first 5G network and best 4G network six years running. With our new EE unlimited plans and swappable benefits like BT Sport and Amazon Prime, our customers can enjoy their favourite TV, film, sport, games and new experiences on the Galaxy Fold 5G’s impressive display, all with the fastest speeds in more places than on any other network.”
