EE customers can now get Apple TV 4K with BT Sport as new broadband plans launch

Prices start from £37 a month and include broadband, Apple TV 4K and access to 52 Premier League matches.

If you’re an EE mobile or home broadband customer, you can now add on Apple TV 4K too and pay for it via your bill.

The mobile operator today announced a new offer which allows existing EE customers (home broadband / pay monthly mobile / 12 and 24 month SIM only included) will be able to add an Apple TV 4K box to their broadband package for an extra £15 a month. The £15 a month also includes a BT Sport subscription which can be viewed on Apple TV or via the app on your EE mobile.

This is how the pricing looks for the new offer, all are 18 month contracts:

EE ADSL (10Mbps)

Broadband – £22/m
Broadband with Apple TV 4K – £37/m (£42 after first 18 months)

EE Fibre (36Mbps)

Broadband – £28/m
Broadband with Apple TV 4K – £43/m (£47 after first 18 months)

EE Fibre Plus (67Mbps)

Broadband – £32/m
Broadband with Apple TV 4K – £47/m (£52 after first 18 months)

EE Fibre Max 1 (145Mbps)

Broadband – £42
Broadband + Apple TV 4K – £57/m (£59 after the first 18 months)

EE Fibre Max 2 (300Mbps)

Broadband – £50
Broadband + Apple TV 4K – £65/m (£64 after the first 18 months)

An Apple TV 4K box is similar to an Amazon Firestick or Roku Box in that it gives you access to a range of online entertainment services, some of which are free to access if you pay your TV Licence (e.g. BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub) and others that require a subscription such as Netflix and Now TV. Inclusive access to BT Sport is included in the EE package though, and if you’ve got a compatible TV, you can watch it in 4K with Dolby Atomos sound.

Apple TV 4K

The Apple TV 4K box itself is a typically well designed piece of Cupertino kit. It has an HDMI 2.0a port, WiFi, Bluetooth v5, IR receiver and is powered by the A10X Fusion chip making it pretty nippy when accessing apps and even for gaming. It support Apple’s voice assistant Siri but unfortunately no longer supports Freeview channels (the old Apple TV did).

BT Sport gives access to 52 Premier League football matches, UEFA Champions League and Europa League games, UFC, cricket, tennis, Moto GP and from January 2020, WWE events and shows will also be available.

Extra Data

EE mobile customers get an extra 5GB of data per month added to their mobile plan when they sign up for EE home broadband. This increases to 20GB of data on EE’s Fibre Max 1 and 2 plans.
