If you fancy yourself as a budding medic and are keen to show off your surgery skills, this medical themed simulator app challenges you to perform some interesting operations on your poor unsuspecting patient. The aim is to try and save your patient Bob’s life without trying to kill him on the operating table. There are lots of operations to master including kidney and heart transplants and even eye and teeth transplants. Guaranteed blood, gore and lots of fun to be had.

Fantasy Football (Android, iOS – free)

The summer isn’t yet over but the football season is already into full swing. This fun new app from Yahoo brings you fantasy football with a European twist. Fantasy Football is a great way to get to immerse yourself in some football team building skills and instead of having to limit yourself to the Premiership, you can have the pick of the best European leagues. Test your managerial prowess with tournaments in La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga amongst others and fine tune your team with unlimited weekly transfers.

Peppa Pig Theme Park (Android, iOS – £3.99)

A great app for all those little Peppa Pig fans out there and one that could come in handy to keep pre-schoolers entertained on long journeys. There are a total of 10 activities and games to occupy toddlers and upwards all based around a fun-filled theme park. With some simple games such as Ride on Bumper Cars, the Tea Cup Ride and interactive stickers and music this is likely to provide hours of a holiday laughs.

The Art of Thinking Clearly (Android, iOS – £1.49)

If you struggle with decision-making, money issues or need some help resolving tricky relationships with family, friends or colleagues, this app could make your life a lot less stressful. The book version has sold well over one million copies and this app could soon be heading up the app charts with its cognitive coaching and useful advice.

Snap Clap (Android, iOS – free)

A brilliant new camera app which could see the end of fiddling around with camera buttons on smartphones for a little while. All you need to do is download the free Snap Clap app and just clap your hands whenever you want your handset to take a photo. It’s also customisable so you can choose which camera to shoot with and there are editing options for cropping and enhancing your photos.
