Tinder (iOS, Android – Free)

Tinder_AppIt’s fair to say that Tinder is one of the most talked about dating apps with lots of press coverage an millions of users which is pretty impressive given it was only launched in October last year.  It’s also a very quick and simple to use, you can literally be up and running in a matter of minutes. So what’s all the fuss all about? Essentially Tinder uses GPS to find your location and then it accesses your Facebook profile to pick up your account info, your Facebook preferences (included pages you’ve liked) and also some of your photos (the ones you want to be used!). Tinder will then rather cleverly find possible matches who are local to you (you can specify age range and distance) and it will also let you know if you have any Facebook friends and interests in common. You then get a selection of photos of possible matches which you look through and decide whether you like the look of them or not. Once you get a mutual ‘like’ you are able to message each other and take things from there.

How About We (iOS, Android – free)

Or you could post your own ‘How About We’ date and see who is interested in going along with you. A great way to find potential dates with people who have similar interests to you.
