10 things you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy S10 family

There are three models in the Galaxy Family, S10 Plus, S10 and S10e

For the first time Samsung has released 3 models, the Galaxy S10e has one memory size and four colours Prism Black, Prism White, Prism Green and Canary Yellow. The S10 has two memory sizes and is available in Prism Black, Prism White and Prism Green.  The S10+ has three memory sizes, 128GB available in Prism Black, Prism White and Prism Green, but the 512GB and 1TB  are only available in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black. For the record that is seventeen variants at launch with six different price points.

1. The S10+  offers a variant with 1TB of storage

This has been singled out because of the 1Tb of storage, although not the first handset to have this size of storage but it is a clear play for the laptop/PC market if you add the Samsung Dex, this may be the only device you need.

2. The S10 and S10 + have three rear facing cameras

This may be a bit Spinal Tap, but three is better than two.

3. The S10 and S10 + have 2 front facing cameras

See above!

4. They all have Powershare

If you have over 30% battery power you can share your power with Qi (chee) compatible devices, this may one of the most useful features to arrive on a mobile phone, help your mates out or charge your earbuds from your phone. This is great news.

5. The S10 and S10+ have super secure Ultrasonic Fingerprint scanning

Ultrasonic Fingerprint scanning is one the most secure scanning technologies available for your mobile, you may need it if you are going to use it for all your work and personal files and photographs.

6. The S10e, S10 and S10+  have facial recognition software

If you want it, Samsung can do it as well. Not exclusively, as on Apple, as there are some situations where facial recognition is not the best function.

7. They all have Dolby Atmos 3D sound

Dolby studios have been a the forefront of audio technology for decades, from innovative noise suppression for cassettes (what are they?!) to 3D sound for your mobile. Dolby deliver the best in audio experience.

8. They all have a 3.5mm head phone jack

To some this may not be important but others this is still a big deal, by including this simple feature Samsung have sent a clear message to its customers: we will not restrict your feature set in order to make more money.

9. They all have the new Samsung One Ui

The new Ui from Samsung is uncluttered, icons pop with colour. Its been made easier to use one handed. SmartThings app is already installed which makes it easier to control your Bluetooth paired devices.
