Includes EE’s short 30 day plans plus a 30% discount too.
Everyone loves a freebie. If you sign up to one of EE’s 4G Mobile Broadband plans through online retailer Chitter Chatter this month, you’ll get a free Google Home Mini speaker. The plans are nice and short 30 day plans too so you’re not tied into a long contract. And that’s not all, at the moment there’s a 30% discount on selected plans so you bag an extra saving there as well.
For those of you not familiar with what mobile broadband is, it’s basically a portable WiFi connection without the need for any cables or a landline. You just charge it up, place it wherever you have a decent EE signal and then you can connect up to 20 devices at once, including your laptop, tablet or even games console.
It’s pretty useful for when you’re out and about and have other devices to connect, but with many of us staying at home at the moment, it’s also handy for helping get a family member connected to the internet to help them stay in touch – perhaps a relative that lives far away who doesn’t have home broadband. Or giving the kids their own broadband connection.
The main plan is a 30 day rolling contract and includes 20GB of data, which normally costs £25 a month, but the 30% discount brings that cost down to just £17.50 a month. You also need to pay £39 upfront for the 4GEE WiFi Mini device but that’s then yours to keep, along with the Google Home Mini. There are also plan options for 30GB, 50GB and 75GB if you want more data.
If you’ve got EE coverage in your area, mobile broadband can save the need for a landline and there’s no complicated installation or additional setup costs, it’s a quick and relatively low cost way to connect to the internet.
It’s not for everyone of course, some people like the peace-of-mind feeling that standard home broadband can bring, but in a world that is moving more towards wireless connections, and a nice short 30 day rolling contract to see if it’s right for you, this is the best EE Mobile Broadband deal we’ve found.
The Google Home Mini is a voice assistant speaker that allows you to control the likes of Spotify, your heating, the radio and lighting with your voice. Amazon Alexa’s main competitor, it’s straightforward to set up once you have a Google account. The sound quality isn’t going to give Sonos anything to worry about but as a small speaker to have on your desk or somewhere around the house, it’s pretty useful. It’s amazing how quickly we’ve got used to having voice assistants in our house – we now have one in nearly every room to control the music, TV, lighting and heating.
We did a full EE Mobile Broadband test a few month’s back to see just how well it can perform, you can watch the video here and below.
You can order the free Google Home Mini deal from Chitter Chatter from now until the end of May and the offer includes free home delivery.
