Is it Frank Sinatra and My Way, Bing Crosby and White Christmas or maybe Bohemian and Rhapsody by Queen? Surely it has to be a Beatles song? Which one would you choose: Love me Do, I wanna hold your hand or possibly Let it Be but what about Hey Jude?
One thing is certain all of our lists would be different and we would all think our choices would be the best, but if you stuck your kneck out for a Beatles song you would be wrong. The most streamed song on Spotify with over 2 billion streams is:
You either love him or hate him but the most streamed track ever on Spotify is by Ed Sheeran, ‘Shape of You’ from his ‘Divide’ album.
The hit song, which reached number one in dozens of countries around the world, including the UK and America, has to date had over 2 billion streams on the Spotify music platform.
This song did create some controversy when it was launched as it was deemed to sound very much like TLC and ‘Scrubs’ which has only a paltry 295,146,247 streams and rising! The song sounded so much like Scrubs, Ed Sheeran added the Scrubs song writers to the writing credits of his track. Sounds very much like Robin Thicke and the Marvin Gaye estate battle. But someone once did say a long time ago ‘ Nothing is new everything is just repackaged’.
