Samsung Galaxy S6 Active – the Latest Leaks

This week there have been yet more leaked reports – well more like a flood actually – surrounding the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6 Active.  Let’s have a look at what those leaks reveal.

Let’s start with the design, which for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is very much based on the original Galaxy S6.  However it will be more robust and will be certified as water and dust resistant as well as being able to withstand falls and shocks. Reports indicate that there will be 3 buttons on the front of the S6 Active which also differentiates itself from the Galaxy S6. The size of the display is expected to be the same with the S6 Active also boasting a 5.1-inch 1440 x 2560 Super AMOLED QHD screen.

There are rumours that there will be a heart sensor on the rear as well as a 16-megapixel camera and rear speakers. In addition to the three actual keys on the front, the S6 Active will come with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

As well as a strong and more rugged exterior, the inside of the S6 Active is sure to impress. The S6 Active, like the Galaxy S6, is thought to have an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Unlike the regular S6, the S6 Active will reportedly have a microSD slot so the internal memory capacity can be increased up to 128GB. The battery in the S6 Active could also see an upgrade over the S6 with speculation that it will feature a removable 3500mAh battery rather than the non-removable 2550mAh battery which comes with the S6.

In keeping with the rugged and robust theme of the S6 Active, the new smartphone will be available in two camouflage designs in blue and white and in a plainer black option. Watch this space for more details as we get them.
