Nearly 30 years after the original, Macaulay Culkin is back as Kevin McCallister, recreating some of Home Alone’s most famous scenes, and yes, he’s still watching ‘Angels with Filthy Souls’.
The 38-year old actor has returned to the role that made him famous, but he’s now fully grown up but still causing some of the same mischief from the original 1990 Christmas favourite.
The ad, from Google, features Macaulay still in the famous Home Alone house but this time, he’s got a Google Home Assistant. He replays some of the classic scenes, including applying aftershave to his cheeks, which goes just as you’d expect – before ordering some more via his assistant, adding the item to his shopping list.
He watches his favourite movie ‘Angels with Filthy Souls’, which he also still uses to talk to the pizza delivery guy – delivering the pizza he ordered online this time.
The scary basement furnace makes a cameo when Kevin uses his assisant to turn the heat down. Then when the Wet Bandits finally turn up, grown-up Kevin just needs to say “begin Operation Kevin” to kick in his master plan to scare off the robbers.
All we want to know is will there be a New York-based sequel to the ad next year?
If you’ve got a Google Assistant of your own, can say “Hey Google…” and hear some of the most memorable quotes from the film.
Ask “How much do I owe you?” and your reply will be “Keep the change, you filthy animal.”
“Did I forget something?” and the famous “KEVINNNNNNNNNN” scream will answer back.
